Unfortunately the Fusion tab in Resolve does have some of its own quirks - it overlaps a lot, but not enough to be a 1:1 replacement for it unfortunately.
In short, lots of logic can likely be ported (same Fusion API does exist inside it) but e.g. Loaders tend to then be Media In’s or whatever. Not sure if still the case but Savers also didn’t really exist. It’d need to ‘render’ in a different manner if I’m not mistaken, etc.
Hello @BigRoy.
Our studio is investigating on implementing an fusion composition pipeline. At the moment Fusion can be accessed via both Fusion Studio and Resolve.
We will need to be able to load the media and also do a publish.
I had a quick look at the Fusion Tab in Resolve and noticed that the loader/manager in Resolve would take care of our need for loading the media.
I haven’t test the publish function yet, but I assume that it would work ok as well.
I think what we have in resolve should be enough for now. I will definitely make a post here once I investigate further.

Tu
If purely for compositing, I’d recommend the Fusion Studio route over going through Resolve. It launches faster, it’s lighter weight and there’s a reason why BMD kept it alive alongside Resolve as standalone software.
