I’ve asked this in the Discord but just posting here as well since discord might bury the post.
Would it be possible to have the staging name and directory to be the same as the publish? This would mean you would write directly to the publish folder. I know it sound tricky but in our studio the comp team often starts setting up their comps with the frames that are already rendered through Deadline for example. The full range might not be finished yet since it’s a couple of hours per frame. If they have to wait until the whole frame range is completed and published it might take quite some time.
If we using the current setup, the renders will be moved, breaking their comps obviously. How would you approach something like this? Ideally we would like to render directly to a publish folder and only use the publishing step to register it to the database and perhaps do some transcoding.
