Ayon Unreal Camera Import Issue

Hey there,

I’m encountering an issue when loading a camera into Unreal through Ayon. The camera’s transform attributes are being set to random values instead of retaining their original values from the source file. This is causing inconsistencies and making it difficult to work with imported cameras. The camera is exported from Maya through Ayon.

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

And that same camera is imported correcty in lets say blender, and or without ayon into Unreal.

And have you used the interchange pipeline? or the “oldschool” import into unreal?

Yes same camera import works in unreal without ayon in Unreal. Its a oldschool import into unreal.

I’ll do a test myself in the morning to check how and what (although i dont have maya but blender will do the trick i think)

Hmmm here it all works out, but again this is with blender.
Dit you have an animation on your camera, and did you checked it in the sequencer in UE?

Although I’m thinking now that and UE and Blender has the ridicules same freaking Z is up (hate that part, still after working 4 years in unreal and blender cant get used to it)
Could you maybe share your fbx?

I do have animation on my camera and I checked it in the sequencer and I works completely normal. I will share the fbx.

Also is your fbx published and imported through ayon?

Can you share your bundle Robert? I might have different ayon-core and unreal addon version.

im almost always on the latest and greatest of ayon :wink:
on my own homeserver i’m running a lot of dev versions, but these are tested with the latest production apps from the market

Cool! but still can you just get me a screen grab of the bundle versions. Because I am using all the latest version and still see the issue. oh I just realized that you are using your own dev bundle to test it right. Is it possible that you can test it on the latest releases of the addon version?

I couldn’t download the fbx.
But it could be that due to all the controlls you’ve bould in that there is something that’s not right.

Try bake the animation to a linked cam and then export it.
