🤖 AYON Pipeline - Unreal Enhanced Workflow

Updates on Unreal Integration

AYON has implemented some new features in regards to Unreal 5.4 such as Build sequence hierarchy for building shot structure accordingly to the folder hierarchies. Moreover, it introduces maya preset options for the Alembic loaders to ensure the assets loaded in current transform. It also adds the inventory Connect action to connect available animation / camera to the level sequence created together with UE level when loading layout product. In addition, AYON allows users to customize their asset directories via UE addon’s setting to stay organised following studio’s preference.

AYON Menu and Tools

When using the Alembic loaders (e.g Import Alembic Point Cache , Import Alembic Static Mesh), AYON offers you Conversion presets (e.g. Maya) when bringing the assets into your UE project from other DCC maintaining correct object transforms without need to accommodate to any undesired changes manually. It also offers option to treat materials and meshes during the load action following user’s preference.

➜

The mesh is named accordingly to their allocated folder name, version number and file extension(i.e. testProject_v001_abc)

Build Sequence Hierarchy

Ayon supports to build the shot structure accordingly to the folder hierarchies.
Users are able to use AYON menu → Build sequence hierarchy and pickup exact folder location in project hierarchy to build shots structure inside UE project according to the selection.

➜

Once the user selects the preferred root folder to build the sequence hierarchy , AYON will create UE map(s) and level sequence(s) following that.

And more ! :heavy_plus_sign:

  • The recently released USD Experimental Integration is extending Unreal’s interoperability with all AYON integrations supporting USD :fire:
  • We are actively discussing with Epic Games to sync our integration with their roadmap for Unreal. Their commitment to support linear creation and USD I/O is promising amazing updates in 2025! :sparkles:
