Our studio noticed an issue when installing AYON on machines in our studio (currently using AYON 1.5.3) and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
On machines with a fresh installation (or after clearing %LOCALAPPDATA% for a clean install), running the AYON 1.5.3 installer fails with:
RuntimeError: Failed to distribute "Dependency package"
When we install using an older AYON launcher (1.0.0), it successfully downloads and distributes the dependency package. The launcher then automatically updated itself to 1.5.3, and AYON launched without any issues.
So the behavior we’re seeing is:
- Fresh install using the AYON 1.5.3 installer → fails during dependency package distribution.
- Install using an older launcher → dependencies are distributed successfully, the launcher auto-updates to 1.5.3, and AYON launches normally.
Just wanted to flag this in case it’s a known issue or if anyone else has run into something similar.
