Issues with Rendering on Deadline Ayon 3.16.5

Hi @BigRoy , thank you for the feedback.
I added the “deadlinePlugin.SetProcessEnvironmentVariable(env, val)” and it WORKED!

Now I got a different error in the “Publish” job, it seems the split process of the string is messing with the path.

Great! So that I believe is a bug that has already been fixed.

I think you might have an outdated Ayon Deadline Plugin. I think you might have this indentation issue in the code and you’re lacking that commit. Probably best to update your Ayon Deadline Plugin with the one from develop, so basically this folder.

However I do think there’s currently still a bug in the code where the raised error message will have the ; in-between each character since here we’re doing ";".join(exe_list) even though exe_list is actually a str that already exists of paths joined together by ;. But the bug should only mean that the error message is formatted wrong with the code in develop but it should be able to search the exe in the file list just fine.

I’ve opened this PR to maybe fix the error message itself + added the environment var fix that fixed it for you.

Funny - that’s actually a familiar error, because it’s basically the one we solved for GlobalJobPreLoad for the render job itself. I think here you might need to now add the other self.SetEnvironmentVariable(env, val) since we’re actually trying to update local plugin job that environment variable that triggers an unmanaged executable because it’s a PluginType.Simple plugin?

And that was it!, yep it WORKS!, the job went through and it moved the work files (rendered frames under publish folder)
Just want to mention there is some errors in the log, adding here just in case the log need some polish.
