Hello team,
My name is Diarone, and we’re using AYON in production to manage our studio pipeline.
Recently, we experienced instability after a version upgrade and decided to roll back AYON by two versions to restore system stability. The rollback was performed following the same procedure we’ve used successfully in previous updates, with no changes to our deployment workflow.
However, all custom configurations were lost, including:
- Addon settings (e.g., publisher, etc.)
- Project-level customizations (custom attributes, task templates, folder types)
- Bundle definitions and environment overrides
We’d appreciate your help clarifying:
- What might have caused this data loss?
- Is there any way to recover these configurations, even if they’re no longer visible in the UI but might still exist in the database?
- What is Ynput’s recommended best practice for safe rollbacks and configuration backups, especially regarding addon and project settings?
- As a preventive measure, we’re now implementing a manual backup process—exporting addon and project settings via the AYON API into versioned JSON files. However, we want to ensure this aligns with your official guidance.
Thank you very much for your support and any documentation or advice you can share on this scenario.
